The first 100 donors Tuesday receive a poinsettia from Stan’s Garden Centers

 ERIE, PA – The “Season of Giving” returns to the Community Blood Bank. This annual promotion helps ensure a safe blood supply throughout the busy holiday season. The first 100 donors who donate blood Tuesday will receive a festive holiday Poinsettia generously donated by Stan’s Garden Center. These flowers make a great photo op! This is one of the most popular events of the Season of Giving, don’t miss it!

 “We can’t believe the holidays are here again!”  Said Dan Desrochers, Director of Marketing at the blood bank. “Nothing is more festive than these wonderful poinsettias from Stan’s.”

 Giving blood is the fastest way to get in the holiday spirit!

 The Community Blood Bank is open from 8a.m. 6p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 9a.m.—12:30 p.m.  Photo ID required but no appointment is ever needed.

 The Community Blood Bank is licensed by the FDA and holds permits from the New York Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Department of Health and has been saving lives since 1966. It is accredited by the AABB and CLIA and is a member of America’s Blood Centers.

 

Season of Giving Week 2: First 75 Donors Tuesday Dec. 13th get a Poinsettia from Stan’s Garden Center

ERIE, PA – The “Season of Giving” continues at the Community Blood Bank. The first 75 donors who donate blood Tuesday will receive a festive full-size holiday Poinsettia generously donated by Stan’s Garden Center. These flowers make a great photo op! This is one of the most popular events of the Season of Giving, don’t miss it!

 George’s Copper Kettle Kitchen will be serving their wonderful homemade soups Tuesday from 11-1 to warm up donors too!

 Donors all week are entered to win a Christmas gift basket which includes a golf 4some w/cart to the Lake Shore Country Club, and a night stay at the Bel-Aire Hotel and other great gifts too.

 “We are trying to make sure we have enough blood for the Holidays,” Said Dan Desrochers, Director of Marketing at the blood bank. “Nothing is more festive than these wonderful poinsettias from Stan’s.”

Get Ready for Mothers’ Day this Thursday at the Blood Bank

1st 75 donors on Thursday, April 28th, will

 receive a floral print from local artist

ERIE, PA – With Mother’s Day just around the corner the Community Blood Bank has teamed up with local artist, Esther J. Fucci, to help donors give their mothers the perfect gift this year.  The first 75 presenting donors on Thursday, April 28th, will receive a floral print, compliments of Fucci. 

Donors all week long will be automatically entered to win a professionally framed floral print by Fucci and a two-tiered stone fountain worth $450 courtesy of Stan’s Garden Center. 

“This is the perfect Mother’s Day gift,” says Brittany Yost, community outreach & program coordinator at the Community Blood Bank.  “This promotion is a great way for donors to give not only to their mothers but also to the local community.” 

 Fucci received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Villa Maria College and has done extensive graduate work at Catholic University of America.  She has taught in the City of Erie School District and the Erie Parochial System on both elementary and secondary levels.  Since her retirement from teaching, she has pursued her lifelong avocation of art more intensely.  Fucci also had the privilege of working with both Joseph Plavcan and Dr. Zolten Heya. 

 “I hope to share with everyone the joy and peace that I have enjoyed through my work,” says Fucci.

 ERIE, PA – The “Season of Giving” continues at the Community Blood Bank. The first 60 donors who donate blood Tuesday will receive a festive full-size holiday Poinsettia generously donated by Stan’s Garden Center. These flowers make a great photo op! This is one of the most popular events of the Season of Giving, don’t miss it!

 Donors who come in all week long can enter to win a beautiful contemporary garden stone fountain worth over $500, also generously donated by Stan’s Garden Center.

Hop on In: Good Friday Promotion at the Comm. Blood Bank

First 50 donors Friday get a primrose flower from Stan’s Garden Center and a package of sponge candy from Romolo Chocolates.

  ERIE, PA – Hop on in to the Community Blood Bank this Good Friday. The first 50 donors who come in on Good Friday get a potted Primrose, the first flower of spring, generously donated by Stan’s Garden Center on Buffalo Road. And of course it wouldn’t be Easter without chocolate so there’s sponge candy for the first 50 donors from Romolo Chocolates across from Frontier Park. The blood bank, at 26th & Peach is open from 9am to 6pm Friday and is open from 9am to 12:30pm on Saturday. No appointment is needed to save a life.

 The Community Blood Bank is still recovering from a blood shortage earlier in the week and wants to ensure an adequate blood supply for the holiday weekend.

 “Romolo Chocolates and Stan’s Garden Center are so good to us, this is a great annual promotion,” Said Dan Desrochers Director of Marketing at the blood bank “Good Friday is normally a very quiet day for us, and we hope some people who have the day off will come in and help us save lives.”
