6 STANGANELLI’S PEPPERONI BALLS FOR ALL DONORS THIS WEEK!

All donors this week get a coupon for 6 free pepperoni balls from Stanganelli’s Italian Foods

 

ERIE, PA – The Community Blood Bank, the local supplier of blood, has teamed up with another local favorite, Stanganelli’s Italian Foods to save lives locally this week. All donors who give blood this week at 26^th & Peach Street receive a coupon for 6 Pepperoni Balls and one donor this week will win the grand prize of a cooler filled Stanganelli’s favorites. Stanganelli’s will also have Pepperoni Balls ready for donors to snack on after they give blood.

 The blood supply is in decent shape, but summer is the hardest time of the year for the blood supplies. Officials hope to have a strong June to make getting through the July 4^th holiday easier.

 “This is terrific having a local favorite helping us out,” Says Dan Desrochers, Director of Marketing at the Community Blood Bank. “We are dependent on local donors to maintain a safe blood supply and we thank Stanganelli’s for their help encouraging them to come and give blood.”

 The Community Blood Bank is open from 8a.m. 6p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 9a.m.—12:30 p.m.  Photo ID required but no appointment is ever needed.

The Community Blood Bank is licensed by the FDA and holds permits from the New York Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Department of Health and has been saving lives since 1966. It is accredited by the AABB and CLIA and is a member of America’s Blood Centers.

 The blood supply remains lower than officials want. As summer progresses the likelihood of a blood shortage increases.

 The Community Blood Bank is located at 26^th and Peach and is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 12:30pm. No appointment is needed to save a life.

Community Blood Bank is teaming up with Stanganelli’s & Jog ‘n Hog to race this summer.

There is a unique race coming to Erie, and the Community Blood Bank is one of the beneficiaries. Introducing the Stanganelli’s Pepperoni Ball Jog ‘n Hog – Friday, June 15 at Presque Isle State Park. Participants will start at Beach 1, run out 2 miles, stop and eat a half-dozen pepperoni balls and then run (or waddle) back 2 miles. Get all the details at www.jognhog.com.

The Community Blood Bank will benefit two ways from this fun race. There will be a promotion at the CBB to give donors a discounted registration coupon when they give blood. This will happen a few weeks before June 15th. Hopefully some daring people will give blood before the race so we can be prepared for summer. Some of the proceeds from the race will be donated back to us, that money will be used to buy additional advertising. This will be especially beneficial heading  into summer, the hardest time of the year for the blood supply.

Blood donors tend to be a fun and adventurous group and this kind of event is right up our alley so get your running shoes on and grab a napkin!
